ELGIBILITY

For young women aged 12 to 25 to build resilience and confidence to be life ready and working toward employment readiness through mentorship through older female positive role models by undertaking recreational activities.

What is Girl Power?

The young women’s program is aimed at raising young women's consciousness about their value and worth in society and developing their understanding of respectful relationships and consent.

 

Drop-in style program that has structured activities and services.

  • Access to laptops and free wi-fi internet

  • Sports recreation games

  • Crafternoons

  • Guest speakers

  • Mental health & substance use awareness workshops

  • Living skills workshops

  • Access to referrals to other health & community services

  • Education and Careers pathways mentoring

  • Self-defence classes

  • Arts projects

  • Dance and Drama classes

 

Why IYC is aiming for Girl Power?

Enhancing Life Skills -  Young Women know their rights in life matters (law, with police, rental, relationships, employment etc)
